MATERIALS & PROCESS

Christina creates original mixed media and abstract artwork primarily on professional gallery wrapped canvas. Her materials may include acrylic paint, modeling paste, sand, joint compound, heavy acrylic gels, gesso, metallic leaf and finishes, resin, natural materials, fine cosmetic pigments, and other layered media.

Texture is built by hand. Materials are layered, shaped, poured, dragged, or built up to create depth, movement, and variation across the surface. In select works, particularly within Terra, Christina incorporates fine cosmetic pigments to introduce rich color, subtle sheen, and mineral like depth.

The process changes with each piece. Some works develop through fluid movement and gravity. Others take shape through repeated line, layered color, deliberate structure, and dimensional texture. Christina responds to the surface as it changes, allowing instinct and material to guide the work while refining the final composition with intention.

Raised texture, metallic details, and shifts between matte and reflective finishes interact with changing light, revealing depth and details that can be difficult to capture fully in photographs.
